3 items total. Includes two WW1 era Lebel Model 1886/15 bayonets and scabbards. The bayonets have a 20 1/2" spear point, cruciform blades that are attached to a brass handle. No quillon crossguard with a muzzle ring is riveted to the tang. A spring loaded locking collar, with a round button latch behind the guard, secures the bayonet via a mortise slot to the rifle barrel lug. The scabbard, with a rectangular frog loop collar 15 mm from the throat, is round and tapers to a ball end. One has the Serial number 47426 matched on the crossguard and scabbard, the other has the SN marked on scabbard, the crossguard in unmarked. 3) French M1892 Mannlicher Berthier Bayonet & Scabbard. Stamped serial number 2295 on quillon, matched on scabbard. This is a good example of a rare first pattern M1892 bayonet, made rarer by its matching serial numbers and unaltered quillon. The French Model 1892 bayonet was manufactured from 1892 and was still in use during WW I. The M1892 bayonet was with the Model 1892 Mannlicher Berthier Short Rifle and has become known as the Mannlicher Berthier bayonet. Blade is overall good/bright with some dark spots.
