<B>Lot of Four Early Royal Navy Documents and Letters.</B></I> An interesting lot that includes a one page letter, 4.5” x 7.25”, dated April 26, no year , written by Admiral Sir Edward Codrington, hero of the Battle of Trafalgar, in which he requests the printing of dinner invitation cards and visiting cards for both him and his wife, a few spots where the ink has run, else very good with the usual toning and fold creases; a two page manuscript, 7.75” x 9.5”, undated, comprising a biography of Admiral Lord Viscount Duncan to which is affixed a cut autograph mistakenly thought to be Duncan's, yet dated 16 years after his death, ragged about the edges, else very good condition; a three page letter, 7.5” x 9.5”, date September 30, 1793 supposed to be written by Captain Thomas Hardy in whose arms Admiral Nelson died; toned and with the usual fold creases, else very good; and a one page document, 8” x 12”, dated December 18, 1801, signed by Admiral Robert Montague and Captain Robert Barris, approving provisioning of the HMS Calypso in Port Royal Harbor, large section missing from the upper left corner (not affecting text), with the usual fold creases, else very good. <I>Ex.
