<B>Lot of Four Civil War Letters.</B></I> Including a four page letter from a soldier in the 6th Massachusetts Cavalry garrisoned in New Orleans, dated February 28, 1864, who writes to his father: “<I>I write to inform you that I have not reinlisted sic and tomorrow I shall not and as it is the last day that I shall have to reinlist sic and thereby get the bounty there cannot of course be any inducement for me to go as a veteran unless it is from motives of patriotism and I feel that if I stay till next October any patriotism will be nearly played out…</B></I>”, with the usual fold creases, else fine; a four page letter from the same soldier convalescing in a New Orleans military hospital, dated June 29, 1863 with references to “<I>guerillas</B></I>” and complaining about the lack of regular pay, with the usual fold creases and badly toned and fragile at the fold, else good; an autograph document, dated April 17, 1864, Key West, Florida, comprising a contract between A. E. Stocker, U. S. Volunteers Medical Director, and Dr. W. T. Carroll a local Key West doctor, to perform the duties of a medical officer, with the usual fold creases, some small splits in the folds, insect staining on the verso, else good condition; and a one page autograph letter from the Headquarters Army of Ohio Medical Director's Office, to Colonel Boyd, Chief Quartermaster, Department of North Carolina, dated May 23, 1865, informing the latter that “<I>a hospital at Raleigh is considered at present as a Post Hospital, although it may soon become a General Hospital…</B></I>”, with the usual fold creases, else fine. <I>Ex.
