He is also the person credited with coining the phrase "Cold War"; Lucius Beebe (1902 -1966), was an author, photographer, railroad historian, journalist, and syndicated columnist; Westbrook Pegler (1894-1969) was an American journalist and writer. His views-always expressed in vehement, and colorful language-became increasingly conservative and right-wing; Richard Tregaskis (1916-1973) was an American journalist and author whose best-known work is Guadalcanal Diary (1943), an account of the U.S. Marines' invasion of Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands during World War II.
