A selection of 6 letters emanating from various southern regions of the United States including a one page autograph letter dated May 3, 1822 written from Washington regarding a New Hampshire residents eligibility for a pension; a one page love letter which starts “<I>Dear Sarah, whom I erst have seen, a tender flower, not yet in teens</B></I>”; an 1814 dated letter written from Richmond, Virginia from a nephew to his uncle who begs his uncle’s pardon for an outstanding debt; a one page 1821 dated letter written from Bellona Arsenal, Virginia from a gentleman seeking to purchase a copy of the Report of the Secretary of War; two letters with 1817 and 1818 dates written from Lexington, Kentucky with tobacco content; a three page letter dated 1800 written from Buckland, Virginia regarding a potential land sale; and a 18th Century era two page letter, Warsaw, Georgia dated May 2, 1794 from William Wall, in which Wall, fearing a coming war seeks an appointment to head a state office dealing with naval matters. All items have the usual fold creases, most have toned with age, several exhibit small splits in the folds, a few have mounting remnants on the verso, otherwise they are all in very good condition. <I>Ex.
