He concludes the letter <I>“Very respectfully yours, S. P. Chase”</B></I>. <B>Condition</B></I>: glued to another sheet; good condition with folds, a small top border tear, and staining from the glue on the verso <BR><B>William Henry Seward ALS</B></I> One page, State Department letterhead, 4.75” x 8”, Washington, D.C., August 12, 1863. This letter by Secretary of State William H. Seward (1801-1872) was written during his tenure in the Lincoln administration. The letter is signed <I>“Very truly your friend and obedient servant / William H.
