Lot of 3 ceramic lamps from Roman Egypt. Lot includes an orange-ware lamp, c. 1st Century BC/AD, with beautifully molded decorative elements on the shoulder around the fill-hole, long nozzle and raised tear-drop base, (L: 3 1/2 in, 8.9 cm), another example from the same period with raised pellets around the shoulder and a shield device on the spout, raised ring base with central ivy-leaf mark, (L: 31/4 in, 8.3 cm), and last a 'Frog' lamp, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD, of lentoid shape with geometric decoration on the body, base impressed with double-palm device, (L: 3 in, 7.6 cm). Each is intact with carbon deposits from use in antiquity, the later heavily used with heavy deposits. Ex Orange County private collection.
