Lot of 2 authentic early Montana Court documents, both in very good original condition. The first is a Montana Territory, Custer County First District Court Prison Commitment, dated November 29, 1882, with District Court Gold Seal attached,for sentenced defendant Thomas Johnson on the charge of Burglary for which he was sentenced to the Territorial Prison for “Two years and pay the costs of prosecution”. The second piece is a Warrant of Arrest from the Justice Court ofJefferson County dated February 2nd, 1892, charging one John J. Holmes with the crime of Assault with the intent to commit Rape, setting bail at $500; on the reverse of the Warrant, there is notation in ink, that the suspect was arrested that same day, posted “sufficient bond for his appearance” and “was released”; with further notation of fees for serving the Warrant totaling the sum of $2.15.
