Collection of Sixteen Different Suffrage Related Pieces of Sheet Music. This collection of 16 different pieces of suffrage related sheet music contains some very interesting graphic pieces along with some historically significant items. Included in the lot are “She’s Good Enough to Be Your Baby’s Mother and She’s Good Enough to Vote With You,” “The Darktown Suffragette Parade” with racist images, “No Suffragettes for Mine,” a popular phrase indicating that the speaker refuses to have a suffragist for a girlfriend or wife, “Put Me On an Island Where the Girls are Few,” showing a poor man being attacked by an aggressive woman and another woman with a “Votes for Women” sign, “Since My Margarette-Become-a-da-Suffragette,” ethnic humor, “What the Matter With Uncle Sam,” featuring an Uncle Sam beleaguered by such popular issues as suffrage, “The Never Homes,” which portrays a suffragist with sash accompanied by women in the roles of a firefighter and a cop, “The New Woman,” a topsy-turvy world in which women and men exchange roles, “Bloomer,” a polka published in 1851, just around the time the Bloomer was introduced to the American public, “Let Us All Speak Our Minds If We Die For It,” an early song published in 1853 that decries the oppression of men, along with six others. Some tears and repairs, but generally in good to very fine condition. From the Frank Corbeil Collection.

Shipping: Flat Material, Large (view shipping information)
