George Custer signed envelope lot. Comprises 10 envelopes made out in Custer's hand to his wife ''Mrs. Genl Custer'', with one to ''Mrs Genl GA Custer''. George Custer married Elizabeth ''Libbie'' Bacon in 1864 after overcoming her family's initial disapproval. Envelopes are sent to Libbie at five locations: Monroe, MI; Louisville, KY; Fort Riley, KS; Canandaigua, NY; and ''339 Penn Ave.'' in D.C. Four of the ten envelopes has original 3-cent stamps affixed. One 3-cent stamp is removed from an envelope but intact. Postmarks bear the city and date without the year. Envelopes measure 5.25'' - 6'' x 3.25'' with expected toning, uneven tearing to right or left edge from opening. Overall very good condition.
