Dwight D. Eisenhower lot of 10 typed letters signed as President. Letters are each signed, ''DE'' and written upon Eisenhower's White House stationery, ranging in date from June of 1954 to May of 1956. All of the letters are addressed to his brother Ed, and possess a familiar tone indicative of the brothers' close relationship. Highlights include: from a 1954 letter, ''...I have...read the transcript of the naturalization proceedings held on the 'Missouri.' You might tell Judge Boldt that I particularly liked his discussion of the rights and privileges of citizenship; someday -- since I am sure he would not mind -- I may possibly plagiarize what he said there...''. A letter marked ''Personal'' reads, ''...With respect to the proposed amendment, I note that you have again inserted the three words 'any provision of' that I told you I instinctively feared...''. Letter sent the month after Eisenhower suffered a heart attack reads, ''...Your note of good wishes on my birthday...just now came to my attention. I agree with you as to the disadvantages of the circumstances - but this year I was...glad to...celebrate under any conditions...'' Punch holes from filing to the top edges, otherwise letters are near fine.
