CAPTAIN SCARLET AND THE MYSTERONS (TV SERIES, 1967-1968) - Derek Meddings Hand-drawn Sketch and Hand-coloured Illustration of Mysteron Rifle

A pair of illustrations of a Mysteron gun from the production of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's TV series Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. The lot includes a hand-drawn pencil sketch of a Mysteron weapon and a hand-coloured copy of the sketch. The original was rendered by Derek Meddings, the supervising visual effects director on the series. The rifle - a high voltage, electromagnetic radiation-emitting weapon used to destroy Mysteron likenesses of Earthmen - was used for the first time against former Spectrum officer Captain Indigo when he became a Mysteron agent. The illustrations are on separate pages and the sketch has "Design for the Mystron (sic) Gun" handwritten in pencil underneath and is signed by Meddings.

The pages exhibit yellowing from age, minor smudging, and creasing. Dimensions: 36 cm x 26 cm (14.25" x 10.25")

Sold without copyright; see copyright notice in the Buyer's Guide.

Estimate: GBP 1500 - 3000 M
