BLADE RUNNER (1982) - Geoff Hutchins Collection: Set of "Ridleygram" Concept Drawings of Glasses

A set of concept drawings of glasses from the production of Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic Blade Runner. Scott was an accomplished conceptual artist whose drawings were referred to as "Ridleygrams" by his collaborators. This lot comes from the family of Blade Runner archivist Geoff Hutchins.

The concepts - several with handwritten annotations - are rendered in pencil and pen on textured yellow paper. They comprise Sebastian's (William Sanderson) goggle glasses; Tyrell's (Joe Turkel) gold-rimmed trifocal glasses; Chew's (James Hong) magnifying glasses; Deckard's (Harrison Ford) infrared glasses; and the street gang's flashing red wrap-around glasses. Neither Deckard nor Sebastian wore their glasses in the film. Included in the lot is a storyboard transparency depicting Leon's (Brion James) interrogation. The paperwork exhibits minor wear commensurate with its age, including creases and tears. Dimensions: 36.5 cm x 28 cm x 1 cm (14 1/2" x 11" x 1/2")

Sold without copyright; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.

Estimate: GBP 1500 - 3000 M
