Autograph Letter Signed ('Dwight Eisenhower'), 1 page, 7.25' x 10.5', Fort Lewis, Washington, September 12 (1940), on the decorative letterhead of the Fifteenth Infantry. To Mrs. Ollie Sexton in Western Springs, Illinois. With an Autograph Envelope Signed ('DDE') postmarked Tacoma, September 13, 1940. Choice Very Fine; two almost imperceptible faintly-toned lines run diagonally across the top corners. Rare in autograph letters!

A marvelous letter about the difficulties of taking care of his aging parents. In part: 'Thanks so much for your note. I am, of course, terribly disappointed that you could not stay with the folks, but realize that your health wonÕt permit it. I do hope that Ray finds someone that will be satisfactory to Dad & Mother, for as you clearly realize, unless they like her - well, she could be the angel Gabriel (or his wife) and it wouldnÕt help. ..
