BLADE RUNNER (1982) - Geoff Hutchins Collection: Eldon Tyrell's (Joe Turkel) Prototype Glasses

Eldon Tyrell's (Joe Turkel) prototype glasses from Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic Blade Runner. Tyrell wore his large glasses throughout the film, including his memorable death scene, when Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) crushed his skull. This lot comes from the family of Blade Runner archivist Geoff Hutchins.

The glasses feature trifocal lenses; a gold-rimmed octagonal frame; a pair of nose pads; a nose bridge; and a V-shaped top bar. Two pairs of Tyrell glasses were created for the film by the maker of "Glasses to the Stars" Dennis Roberts. Scott, or one of his assistants, wrote a note on the original concept drawing requesting that the top bar be straightened for the screen-used glasses. This prototype pair has the original V-shaped top bar. Dimensions: 14 cm x 6 cm x 2.5 cm (5 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1")

Estimate: GBP 5000 - 10000 M
