FRIDAY THE 13TH (2009) - Mario Kirner Collection: Bear Trap and SFX Leg - A bear trap and SFX leg from Marcus Nispel's horror reboot Friday the 13th. Richie (Ben Feldman) stepped into a bear trap while trying to rescue his girlfriend Amanda (America Olivo) from Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears). This lot comes from the collection of Friday the 13th collector and historian Mario Kirner.

The metal trap features rubber-tooth jaws, dual springs, a circular plate, stock bar, and a chain. The flesh-colored foam latex leg features hand-stitched hair, an open wound, a rubber-soled sneaker, sock, and jean remnants. Included is a studio letter of authenticity. The trap exhibits production-added distressing, and the leg exhibits stage bloodstains. Dimensions: (leg) 27.5" x 12" x 6" (70 cm x 30 cm x 15 cm); (trap) 26.5" x 18.5" x 13.5" (67 cm x 47 cm x 34 cm)

This lot comes from the Friday the 13th Props Museum collection of Mario Kirner. The Museum was created as a private collection that showcased not only Jason's iconic hockey mask, but also a number of other movie props, costumes and additional materials that were used during the production of the Friday the 13th movies.

An avid contributor in the screen-used prop and costume collecting field for more than 20 years, Mario Kirner has been a dedicated in his work and efforts to help to transform what was once a niche hobby into an popular culture phenomenon. Mario is not just a collector, but a true historian and curator of all things Jason Voorhees and Friday the 13th, also publishing a book dedicated to showcasing the museum's content and their stories.
