1819 Capped Bust Half Dollar. 9 over 8. Large 9. Another popular overdate bust half dollar, Overton-102, with a large 9 over the earlier 8. Light wear on the cheeks and tops of the hair curls; sharp stars, with variable weakness in the usual areas of the reverse. This design of 1807-1836 had a few problems when it came to sharp strikes; also, the mint's equipment wasn't very advanced in those days. (#6119)
