FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD (1988) - Mario Kirner Collection: Hero Kitchen Knife - A hero kitchen knife from John Carl Buechler's slasher sequel Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. This lot comes from the personal collection of Friday the 13th collector and historian Mario Kirner. When David (Jon Renfield) rummaged through the cabin's refrigerator, a lightning flash illuminated Jason (Kane Hodder) holding a large kitchen knife. It was also used in the production of Dwight H. Little's Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, which was filmed the same year and used the same effects company, Magical Media Industries.

Four knives were made for production: a hero blade, a stunt version, and a set of retractable ones. This hero knife features a blunted silver-painted metal blade and a wooden handle engraved "44S CHICAGO CUTLERY." Its chrome-color blade was painted silver to be more visually striking on camera.

The blade exhibits scuffs and scratches from production use revealing the chrome finish beneath. It comes with a letter of authenticity from the prop master Batia Grafka. Dimensions: 15.2" x 0.08" x 2.2" (38.5 cm x 2 cm x 5.5 cm)

This lot comes from the Friday the 13th Props Museum collection of Mario Kirner. The Museum was created as a private collection that showcased not only Jason's iconic hockey mask, but also a number of other movie props, costumes and additional materials that were used during the production of the Friday the 13th movies.

An avid contributor in the screen-used prop and costume collecting field for more than 20 years, Mario Kirner has been a dedicated in his work and efforts to help to transform what was once a niche hobby into an popular culture phenomenon. Mario is not just a collector, but a true historian and curator of all things Jason Voorhees and Friday the 13th, also publishing a book dedicated to showcasing the museum's content and their stories.
