¥ Vermont Currency
Extremely Rare Anderson 'Vermont-1' Treasury Office Note

October 12, 1785, Act of February 1783, Vermont Treasury Office, Windsor, £12 6s, Very Choice Extremely Fine.
Rarity-8 (One of Three Known), as listed by Anderson in 'The Price Of Liberty" and one of only three note varieties for the entire State! This 'Windsor" specimen type is of the highest rarity of the three. Certainly one of, if not the Finest Known of this issue for its extraordinary quality. Listed in Anderson VT 1 . This note is very well centered having huge top and bottom margins and a full indenture at left. The printed text remains bold and sharp, the manuscript portions and signature of Ira Allen written in rich brown ink, Overall, this note remains quite clean, and extremely attractive, showing only light minor circulation. The verso is completely blank and clean, only some faint vertical folds being seen only from that side. An important and historic top quality specimen of Vermont financial history and missing from virtually all collections.
