STAR WARS: ORIGINAL TRILOGY (1977-1983) - Anthony Daniels Collection: Collection of Contemporaneous Magazine and Press Clippings

A collection of contemporaneous magazine and press clippings detailing interviews, exclusives, and comics from the promotion of the Star Wars original trilogy. Included is the People's Magazine 1977 front cover starring C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), the first Star Wars actor to make its front cover, a black-and-white publicity still featuring "The Making of Star Wars" handwritten on the back and the Rolling Stone 1977 issue in which all the Star Wars actors are credited by name, with the exception for the two robots, C-3P0 and R2-D2 (Kenny Baker) "who practically steal the show". This lack of credit and forced anonymity is reflected in a few of the included press clippings that Daniels kept and later described in his memoir as "a regular stab to my self-worth" and left him feeling like a "secret outcast". Dimensions (Rolling Stones): 37 cm x 31 cm x 0.5 cm (14 1/2" x 12 1/4" x 1/4")

Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the personal collection of actor Anthony Daniels. Daniels plays loyal protocol droid C-3PO in the Star Wars saga. He first appeared in the role in 1977 and is the only actor to appear in all Star Wars feature films to date.

Estimate: GBP 100 - 200 M
