Good condition - 5.5" barrel, shortened - RARE EARLY SERIAL # - 3rd Year Production - finish thinning to gray patina - remnants of nickel finish in protected areas - light freckling - checkered hard rubber grips with faint rampant Colt - worn nearly smooth with repaired crack on upper left - no front & rear frame notch sights - crisp 1-line block style barrel address COLT'S PT F.A. MFG. CO. HARFORD CT U.S.A. - matching SNs on frame/triggerguard/butt - cylinder marked 5561 - loading gate marked 3919 - first type "two date in two line " frame patent markings ending 1872 on left frame - left rear trigger guard bow marked 45 CAL - The Colt Achieve letter indicates the gun was shipped October 7, 1876 to Schuyler, Harley & Graham, New York, New York, 50 guns in shipment – caliber .45/c, barrel length, not listed, finish, blue and type of stocks not listed. Remarks note “that the records do not provide information with regards to the barrel length of subject revolver or the other type of stocks.
