¥ Vermont Currency
Very Rare One Shilling Vermont Colonial Note

February 1781, 1s, Very Fine
A very important and desirable rarity, both for its issue and denomination. This note is whole and complete, combining two partial notes into one. There are a few other scattered repaired typical flaws, but the signatures and serial number are clear and original, being written in medium to dark brown ink. The black printed text and designs are complete, some minor expert restoration credited for additional eye appeal. Of the 120 Vermont Colonial notes known to exist in all grades and conditions, inclusive of all known partial notes, the 1s stands out as one of the scarcest denominations. This example is certainly respectable and would make for an impressive looking Vermont note in any better collection. It is suggested that serious potential bidders request personal inspection of this note prior to the auction, in order to attain a full appreciation of its integrity. An important opportunity to obtain a great, historic rarity which is certainly missing from most, including most very advanced, Colonial Currency and Vermont collections.
