1796 Draped Bust Quarter Dollar. Russet and "rubbed silver" color, the wide denticles giving it a balanced frame despite the wear from circulation. This is one of the most famous U.S. quarter dollars, the historic Draped Bust, Small Eagle 1796 of which only 6,146 were produced, creating one of the rarest one-year Types in Americn numismatics. While the obverse shows a few old marks and hairlines, it is the reverse that has some deeper marks and suggestions that it has been "worked on". Close inspection is recommended; the net grade is Good 4. (#5310)
