Anthony Daniels' ephemera from the 1977 Academy Awards& reg;, where George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope received 11 nominations. At the ceremony, Daniels presented a Special Achievement Award to Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt while in costume as C-3PO, alongside R2-D2 and Mark Hamill. As noted in Daniels' memoir, he was almost arrested by a police officer for not wearing his pass backstage, but managed to escape.

The lot includes Daniels' laminated pass; tickets to the ceremony and the Governors Ball after-party; two event programmes; three black-and-white pictures of Daniels with Hamill and Burtt; and a menu for the dinner at the Ball. The menu has some staining on the cover. Dimensions (programme): 30.5 cm x 23 cm (12" x 9")

Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the personal collection of actor Anthony Daniels. Daniels plays loyal protocol droid C-3PO in the Star Wars saga. He first appeared in the role in 1977 and is the only actor to appear in all Star Wars feature films to date.
