¥ North Carolina Currency
Extraordinary 1776 $1 with 'Justice' Vignette

April 2, 1776, $1, 'Justice' vignette, Very Choice Extremely Fine.
A rather remarkable specimen of this highly elusive denomination and vignette combination. There are four margins being full to large, the text and all important vignette is sharp in detail and clear. Some ancient expert invisible repair to the upper and lower left corners, the light to medium brown ink signatures of William Webb and William Williams are clearly readable. This is the single finest example of this note that we have ever offered or that this cataloger has ever sold in nearly three decades. Likely the best and only opportunity to acquire such an outstanding quality specimen that will come along. ( Considering that the $1/2 'Hit or Miss,' Hunter & His Dog note from this same issue, offered in our April 19th sale just held hammered for $2,400 this note may very well exceed that price, and be well worth it!) An opportunity that North Carolina specialists and rarity collectors in general should definitely not miss.
