1927-S Buffalo Nickel. Since the PCGS Population of this issue falls off sharply above the MS-64 level, and prices rise to the stratosphere, we anticipate considerable competition for this original toned near-Gem avid collectors of the buffalo nickel series. Both sides exhibit dominant luster with intermingled blushes of golden toning iridescence. The strike is overall decent and free of criticism, as well, there are no noteworthy distractions or spots other than perhaps the forepart of the bison's head where the shagginess is smoothed by lack of metal flow into the die. Specialists who appreciate originality as well as choice quality would be shrewd to enter convincing bids for this impressive '27-S Nickel. (#3962)
