1925-D Buffalo Nickel. Like the 1925-S, the 1925-D is typically represented in today's market by very poorly struck coins, in fact, this issue is even scarce in VF-AU grade range; rare in Mint State, particularly with even the slightest degree of striking boldness. This extraordinarily well-produced coin easily falls into the Gem designation simply based on the sparkling luster to the devices. The definition is bold, if not 100% sharp in all areas. The level of surface preservation makes the mouth water for the MS-65 assessment, a satiny sheen being undisturbed by any obvious abrasions or carbon flecks. Golden tinged throughout, and one of our most pleasing Buffalo Nickel offerings of the 1920s decade. (#3955)
