STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) - Anthony Daniels Collection: Millennium Falcon Parts

A collection of assorted Millennium Falcon parts from Richard Marquard's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Upon completion of filming, the frame of the Millennium Falcon was scrapped, as it would have been too expensive to store. Moved by the destruction of this beloved craft, which he described in his memoir as "part of the family," Anthony Daniels rescued a collection of parts waiting to be burnt. A vast majority of these were originally scraps taken from old telephone exchange's and Ford motor engines.

This lot includes a plastic panel painted light grey; a plastic tube full of multicoloured wiring; and a gold-tone metal plaque featuring an engraved Anthony Daniels autograph which states that he recovered these items from the studio. The lot exhibits scratches, paint wear and staining caused by the fire. Dimensions (panel): 25 cm x 6 cm x 3.5 cm (10" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/2")

& pound;1,500-3,000

Additional Provenance:

This lot comes from the personal collection of actor Anthony Daniels. Daniels plays loyal protocol droid C-3PO in the Star Wars saga. He first appeared in the role in 1977 and is the only actor to appear in all Star Wars feature films to date.
