WILLIAM F. 'BUFFALO BILL' CODY.
Typed Letter Signed, 'W.F. Cody' on letterhead of 'Buffalo BillÕs Wild West Combined With Pawnee BillÕs Great Far East,' November 17, 1910, Camden, Arkansas, 11' x 8.5', Very Fine. 'Buffalo Bill' writes a letter of recommendation for a former employer: 'This is to certify that the bearer John S. Hill has been in the employ of the Buffalo BillÕs Wild West and pawnee BillÕs Far East shows, combined, during the past season and has performed all duties assigned to him in a satisfactory manner.' The letter is toned, has a couple of small archival repairs to folds, two pinholes at fold junctures, and some ink offset to lower portion of paper. Cody signed boldly in black ink. An envelope from the Wild West Show, addressed to J.S. Hill, accompanies the letter, as does an envelope from HillÕs Riding Academy in Oak Park, Illinois. Also included are four postcard photograph: one a seated pose of Cody, and three of Hill, standing astride galloping white horses. Some soiling to backs of postcards, but otherwise fine. A neat 'Buffalo Bill' lot. (7 items)
