T-BONE WALKER - T-Bone Walker and Band at the Mambo Club Window Card

A window card promoting T-Bone Walker and Band's concert at the Mambo Club in Wichita, Kansas held March 23, 1952. Walker recorded for Columbia Records in 1929,and by the 1940s, became the first musician to lead an orchestra with an electric guitar. His groundbreaking performances inspired Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, and B.B. King, earning him a spot on Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."

This black-and-white Capitol Records offset lithograph is believed to be only one of two surviving copies. Printed on cardstock, it features an image of Walker over a mint green background as well as the date "March. 23rd Sun.," "Afternoon Time: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.," and the price "$1.75 Advance $2.00 At Door." It grades as Very Fine with tanning on the edges, softened corners, water staining in its upper right corner, and marks on its reverse. Dimensions: 56 cm x 35.75 cm (22" x 14")
