THE STONE ROSES - John Squire's' Blonde Fender Telecaster Custom Guitar

A Blonde Fender Telecaster custom guitar used and owned by John Squire during his time in British rock band The Stone Roses. This guitar was used by Squire when The Stone Roses reunited in 2012 for recording in the studio and during their reunion world tour. It can notably be seen being played by Squire during the song "Waterfall" in Shane Meadows' 2013 documentary The Stone Roses: Made of Stone. Released in 2013, the documentary focused on the band reuniting after a 16-year split. There is also photographic evidence of Squire playing this guitar at his home in 2022.

The 1976 Fender Telecaster features a maple neck and a blonde-finish ash body with a black scratchplate. The serial number "711736" features on a metal plate at the back of the body. Two volume knobs and two tone knobs are located on the body's right side, with a selector switch at the top of the scratchplate. Squire has personally modified it with components to make it sound unique, including a brass bridge, locking tuners, and a zebra humbucking neck pickup. It also features the original strings that were on the guitar when Squire played it.

The guitar comes in a Glarry yellow fabric hardshell rectangular case. The instrument also comes with additional parts inside the case, including the original scratchplate, pickup tuners, and bridge. The guitar exhibits signs of age, including wear to the brass bridge, minor scuffs on the body, and cracking to the body's varnish layer. The lot is accompanied by a letter of authenticity dated "19.12.22" and signed by Squire in blue ink, a The Stone Roses "Festivals 2012 August" tour schedule book, 24 loose black-and-white printed photographs showing Squire playing the guitar in the documentary, and two additional images showing Squire using the guitar at his home. Dimensions (guitar): 98 cm x 33 cm x 6 cm (38 1/2" x 13" x 2 1/4")

Contains electronics; see electronics notice in the Buyer's Guide.
