GALACTICA 1980 (1980) - Light-up Daggit Squadron Viper Pilot Helmet

A light-up Daggit Squadron Viper pilot helmet from Glen A. Larson's Galactica 1980. The Daggit Squadron, led by Captain Dante (Philip Levien), wore their unique Viper helmets embellished with ornamentation on top as they battled against the Cylon in episode nine "Space Croppers." Dillon (Barry Van Dyke) and Troy (Kent McCord) wore lighter-colour variants of the helmet, while the others in the squadron wore darker versions.

This gold-coloured resin helmet features a bird-like emblem on top, interior styrofoam padding, black foam lining, and a webbed leather and nylon chin strap. The interior is hand-marked "12" and applied with a "7 1/4" sticker. The helmet is lined with lights designed to illuminate when four AA batteries are inserted into a pack wired to the interior. While it has undergone sympathetic repair, the helmet still exhibits foam and resin fragility, discolouration, and cracks from age and wear.

Contains electronics; see electronics notice in the Buyer's Guide.

Estimate: GBP 4000 - 8000 US
