Apparently when shampoo doesn’t work on the dander, it’s time to break out the big guns–the Aspiron electric vacuum cleaner. This cuddly little polar bear doesn’t seem to appreciate the first-rate suctioning the black porter is providing, but he–the porter, not the bear–knows that not only is he doing the right thing, but the technologically astute thing. And Vincent’s incongruity make this an altogether memorable promotion for an otherwise mundane appliance. And before any folks inclined to give the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals a jingle pick up their phones, we need to point out that no real animals were injured or harmed in the making of this poster: the blanched bear is merely a stuffed toy come to life used on numerous occasions by Vincent for the Bon MarchÈ department store (see PAI-XXX, 681 for an example).
