The makers of these fine mesh undergarments exhort us to “Brave the Bad Weather” with Dr. Rasurel, even going so far as to suggest that it might be for the best if we strip down to their skivvies in order to take on the worst Mother Nature has to throw our way. An absolutely charming piece. As a posterist, Vavasseur was well known for his invention of humorous characters, as well as contributing drawings to such periodicals as La Caricature, La Silhouette and, under the pseudonym Ripp, to L’Eclipse, La Gaudriole and La Revue IllustrÈe. For another image for this product, see Cappiello’s contributions, Nos. 278 & 288.
