OASIS - Tim Abbot Collection: Early Oasis Demo Cassette Tape

An early scarce demo cassette of Oasis created in 1993 which belonged to Tim Abbot, the former managing director at Creation Records. The original demo was recorded at the Glasgow nightclub King Tut's, where Creation Records' co-founder Alan McGee first saw the band perform and expressed immediate interest in signing them. This tape was one of four or five examples created from the original for executives within the record label and got the band signed.

The "A" side of the tape features an "Oasis-Demos" label handwritten in orange ink stuck onto a Creation Records sticker. Side A includes six Oasis songs; "Columbia", "D'yer Wanna Be a Spaceman?", "Strange Thing", "Bring It on Down", "Married with Children" and "Fade Away". Four tracks feature on Oasis' debut album, Definitely Maybe. The label on the other side of the tape has been scribbled out in black ink and features five songs by the American band Medicine. It comes with a clear case and exhibits light scratching. Dimensions: (in case) 7 cm x 11 cm x 1.5 cm (2 3/4" x 4 1/4" x 1/2")

Sold without copyright; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.
