“An evocative view of this famous spa at the height of the season, with the fashionable set promenading full force outside a well-illuminated casino. There are certainly men here, but in the light of dusk well-dressed women are seen strolling alone or with their young daughters and gathering in groups of two or three” (Gold, p. 98). Tauzin was a landscape and architectural painter whose work was regularly exhibited at the Salon of the SociÈtÈ des Artistes FranÁais for an impressive 47-year period: 1867-1914.
