1652 Massachusetts Oak Tree Sixpence. Noe-21 Rarity-5. Backward S Variety.. Frosty light silvery gray with medium gray tining in protected areas. Nicely struck and well centered on a defect-free planchet. The surfaces are a bit uneven but there are no notable signs of contact or other defects. The first A and adjacent backwards S in MASATHVSETS are softly struck, as usual on this variety. Otherwise the date and legends are full and bold. A premium example of the rare Oak Tree Sixpence. Weight listed as 32.4 grains on the PCGS label, which also includes the Roper provenance. (#19)<p><i>Ex John L. Roper, Stack's 10/8/83.</i>
