A refined–and subtlety titillating–promotion for the Swedish release of "The Man in Evening Clothes,” a Spanish-language film made under Paramount auspices in France. Confusing? Not really; in fact, quite ingenious. Because you see, Paramount did one thing none of the other movieland giants had thought of: location studio filming. The practice wasn’t only a domestic boon (such as their Astoria, New York, studio), but also in England (where it sidestepped the Parliament’s "quota system”), Berlin and the multinational Joinville, France, studio, thus enabling them to use global talents in an era of limited plane travel. This back story is actually far more interesting than the plot of the film, a sort of domestic morality tale of temptation and redemption.
