1861 $20 Liberty. A few widely space contact marks on the face and in the fields, also a thin shiny staple scratch down the neck; generally well struck and indicative of the grade, there is abundant cartwheel frost within the devices, around the devices, and spreading out across the field. Because the reverses of $20 gold pieces have a much fuller design, this tends to protect the delicate luster all the more, which is why this coin's reverse is heavy with mint frostiness. A splendid, affordable Type 1 double eagle. (#8932)
