HENRI RAPIN (1873-?)
513. PathÈ.
45 3/8 x 63 5/8 in./115 x 161.6 cm
Imp. Bedos, Paris
Cond B+/Unobtrusive folds.
A rather monumental design for the PathÈ No. 60 radio, which comes as no surprise considering that the art was created by an officer in the Legion of Honor who also happened to be a Salon member, having won medals for his paintings in 1904 and 1910. Perched atop an apparently velvet-swathed mountain range and backed by a grand grey frieze whose marblesque revelations unveil its multi-band capabilities, this PathÈ is transformed into a receptive force to be reckoned with.
