In the background are Sherman’s troops carrying an American flag and a tattered regimental banner. 2. “ENTRANCE OF THE FIFTY FIFTH MASSACHUSETTS (COLORED) REGIMENT INTO CHARLESTON, FEB. 21, 1865,” uncolored engraving with red stripes handcolored on a flag in the center of the print, 4.5” x 6.5” image, with wide margins to 6” x 9.” Featuring a jubilant crowd of freed slaves waving hats and applauding the “colored” troops entering Charleston, S.C.
