CLIFF RICHARD - Cliff Richard's Fender Stratocaster Guitar

A modified Fender Stratocaster guitar which belonged to Sir Cliff Richard. Originally this guitar was owned by musician and record producer Jim Messina, formerly one half of the rock-pop duo Loggins and Messina. Messina eventually gave this guitar to Richard, who used it several times to perform his hit single "Move It" on stage, including the TV special An Audience with Cliff Richard in November 1999.

Dated circa 1959, the Fender guitar comprises a refinished maple neck and a refinished Olympic white body. The serial number "33880" appears on a metal plate at the back of the body, and the instrument comes with a protective hard leather case lined with red faux fur. The back of the body displays signs of wear, and the lot is accompanied by a handwritten letter signed by Richard, with a printed copy of a photograph showing him holding the guitar. Dimensions (guitar): 99 cm x 32 cm x 6 cm (39" x 12 1/2" x 2 1/4")

Several components of the instrument have been modified and replaced over time. Please enquire for further details.

Contains electronics; see electronics notice in the Buyer's Guide.
