BLACK SABBATH - David Tangye Collection: Termination of Contract Letter Signed by Four Band Members

A termination of contract letter addressed to David Tangye signed by the original four members of Black Sabbath. Dated "14th May 1977," the letter features a "Black Sabbath" header, three typed paragraphs detailing that Tangye was no longer required due to touring work being complete. The bottom of the page is signed in blue ink by Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward. The lot also includes an additional letter dated "15th September 1977" addressed to Tangye regarding refund tax and its original envelope. The letters exhibit creasing and fold lines from previous storage and a section of the termination letter relating to a settlement figure has been cut away. Dimensions (band-signed letter): 21 cm x 15 cm (8 1/4" x 6")

Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the personal collection of David Tangye. He worked closely with Black Sabbath and went on to be Ozzy Osbourne's personal assistant. He co-authored How Black Was Our Sabbath: An Unauthorised View From The Crew with fellow crew member Graham Wright.
