Manuscript Document, being a copy of an 1816 division of the estate of Samuel Lacy, deceased, 12.5” x 8,” 4 pages, integral, which accounts for the lives of nine “Negroes”--slaves who were parceled out to M.B. Lacy and the children. Lightly toned pages, crisp, brown-inked writing. The Negroes and their “valuation” are: Ned ($450), Cato ($550), Book ($500), Mackie ($400), Milly ($300), Isabella ($200), Lucy ($200), Allen ($150), and Harry ($100). No ages are listed, but page three has a detailed explanation of how and why the slaves were to be divided among the Lacy heirs.
