BICENTENNIAL MAN (1999) - Andrew Martin's (Robin Williams) NDR-114 Robot Costume - Andrew Martin's (Robin Williams) NDR-114 robot costume from Chris Columbus' sci-fi drama Bicentennial Man. Andrew, an NDR-114 model robot and family housekeeper, sought a way to become more human through inventor Rupert Burns (Oliver Platt) after realizing he was unique.

Williams wore his NDR-114 robot costume in various scenes before transitioning into human form with makeup effects spearheaded by Greg Cannom, who received an Academy Award& reg; nomination for Best Makeup for his work. The role is considered one of the late Williams' most acclaimed dramatic performances.

Created by Steve Johnson FX, this costume consists of an orange- and gray-painted vacuum-formed plastic and fiberglass suit with a metal and foam base and faux gold trim, as well as beige spandex and latex foam hands. The suit features frosted acrylic around the head, thighs, and back to expose the android's "mechanical" components.

This costume comes mounted via an internal armature to a glossy black rounded wooden base on wheels with a gold-color metal plaque engraved "BICENTENNIAL MAN XFX 1999." This lot exhibits cracking material in the hands and back piece from production use, loose panels on the elbows and lower back, and glue residue. Dimensions: 35.5" x 35.5" x 74.5" (90.25 cm x 90.25 cm x 189.25 cm)
