Partly printed discharge paper, completed in manuscript, May 23, 1865, Frederick, MD, 10.75” x 8,” with large engraved heraldic eagle along top half of document. Brown-toned page with beautiful writing and lovely signatures by the paymaster, the assistant surgeon, and the captain. Bacon signs in pencil on verso. Paper with moderate wear, normal folds, and beginning edge splits. Accompanied by July 16, 1890 “Bureau of Pensions” document, partly printed and completed in manuscript, 11” x 8.5,” 2-page folded integral sheet. With outstanding engraving in the top panel. Certifying that “Elizabeth A. Bacon / Widow of Harrison E. Bacon” was entitled to a pension at the rate of “Eight dollars per month.” Very minor toning, otherwise. (2 pieces)
