(BENJAMIN F. BUTLER.)
'CHARACTER AND RESULTS OF THE WAR: How to Prosecute and How to End It. A Thrilling and Eloquent Speech by Union Major-General B.F. Butler,' 1863, Philadelphia, PA, 32 pages, 8.75' x 5.5', Very Fine. A small booklet of a speech made shortly after Butler returned from service as the military governor of New Orleans, which had earned him the undying enmity of the South and the imputation of corruption in office. Some light stains to wrappers, top corner of wrappers and contents slightly torn, otherwise very fine.
