BATMAN (1989) - Production-made Batman (Michael Keaton) Cowl

A production-made Batman (Michael Keaton) cowl from the production of Tim Burton's superhero film Batman. Batman wore his cowl to disguise his identity and intimidate evildoers in Gotham City. This black cowl, designed by Bob Ringwood and sculpted by Vin Burnham, is the final approved design but this version ultimately wasn't finished or used for filming.

The cowl is made from foam latex and features Batman's iconic pointy ears, sculpted brow, scalloped edges and a seam running up the back. To retain its shape, the cowl has been glued to a black fibreglass shell that is mounted on a metal pole fixed to a circular base made of black plastic. Black metal wires support the nose and ears, retaining their structure. The cowl exhibits wear from age and production use, including slight deterioration and creasing of the foam latex, and there is a hole on the front neck next to a previously repaired tear that runs up to the mouth. Dimensions: 29 cm x 46 cm x 56.5 cm (11 1/2" x 18" x 22 1/4")

Estimate: GBP 3000 - 6000 M
