STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE (1977) - Matted Hand-Illustrated Harry Lange Millennium Falcon Cockpit Concept Collage - A concept collage of the Millennium Falcon's cockpit assembled and hand-illustrated by pioneering designer and concept artist Harry Lange for the production of George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) piloted the Falcon, originally called the Pirate Ship in Lucas' early script, throughout the film.

This lot comes from the collection of Harry Lange. Lange was known for doing detailed panels with many switches, buttons, lights and pinlines. He created various panels of similar designs for 2001: A Space Odyssey, Moonraker, Superman, and others.

This collage consists of cardboard cutouts of a figure and paneling hand-illustrated in mixed media to resemble a mechanical interior, all mounted in a circle to backing board. Also mounted below them are a black-and-white still of the Falcon's cockpit and a label hand-marked "Star Wars Millennium Falcon Int. Cockpit." The collage comes framed behind plastic with white matte board. The collage exhibits minor staining throughout. Dimensions: 20" x 21.5" x 0.25" (51 cm x 54.75 cm x 0.75 cm)

Sold without copyright; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.
