Important communications from then-President Thomas Jefferson. Also bound with “Documents Accompanying the Communication of the President of the United States, to Both Houses of Congress (December 15, 1802),” and “No. II: Communications from Morocco.” Printed in Washington, 1802. Three volumes in one, 8” x 5.” Disbound, slight foxing and soiling, with early owner’s inscription on the title page. Small holes on the left side near spine, affecting the text (though not the legibility) on one page. Blind-stamps. Includes matters relating to the Barbary Wars, treaties with Indians and news of France’s acquisition of Louisiana from the Spanish. Wonderfully historic and important.
